Andrew Carter, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Sees ages 6+. Accepting new patients 

Andrew is a physician assistant practicing in psychiatry since 2009. He graduated from Missouri State University in 2008 with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Andrew is a native of Tulsa.  He attended Booker T. Washington High School and later Langston University-Tulsa, where he earned an undergraduate degree in psychology.

Andrew has worked in multiple outpatient psychiatric clinics in Tulsa with all ages. He takes a harm reduction approach to treatment.  “It’s a shared decision making approach. I meet people where they are at and not where they are expected to be.”

Andrew is married with two children. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, learning new things, traveling and mountain biking.

His main areas of focus include depression, insomnia and various types of anxiety, including obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Brenda Richards

MNS-RN, APRN-CNP, AGNP, PMHNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Sees ages 18+. Accepting new patients

Nurse Practitioner, Brenda Richards, MSN-RN, APRN-CNP, AGNP, PMHNP-BC, has a varied background starting in law, corporate business, and later medicine. She earned her B.S. degree in Business Management with a Minor in Human Resources from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2007, graduating magna cum laude. Brenda earned her B.S. degree in Nursing at Oral Roberts University in 2013, graduating summa cum laude. She then earned her MSN from Regis College in 2019 as an Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care), graduating summa cum laude. While working in private psychiatric practice for three years, Brenda completed her post-Master’s Certificate at Regis College as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in 2022, graduating summa cum laude. 

Brenda’s nursing and medical experience includes a certification in sleep medicine, as well as medical-surgical, ICU, intermediate ICU, infusion, cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation units.  In recent years she has focused mostly on adult and geriatric psychiatry in both private practice as well as nursing home facilities, memory units, and assisted living centers.   

Brenda approaches each patient as a unique, extraordinary individual, facilitating a whole-person, patient-centered approach.  Brenda encourages other appropriate modalities for optimal mental health. This includes maintaining a healthy lifestyle, incorporating exercise and a healthy diet, stress reduction, and quality sleep. She also utilizes psychotherapy interventions, including solution-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). 

She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has been happily married to her husband for over 25 years. They enjoy visiting the ocean, snorkeling, and kayaking.  Brenda also enjoys crocheting, cycling, and training for sprint triathlons.

Hannah Lawrence

Co-Owner/Operations Manager

Hannah is a native Tulsan, graduating from Jenks High School before gaining her Chemistry degree from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California in 2003. She has been in the mental health field since 2017, marrying her diverse background in women’s health with her love of organizational systems, technical writing, and people management. With a keen understanding of how deeply workplace culture impacts well-being, she believes that employees thrive when they feel both heard and valued. As such, she champions open, honest communication as one of her core values.

Driven by a genuine desire to improve patient outcomes, Hannah is dedicated to ensuring the highest quality care. She does this by handpicking exceptional providers and creating a culture of listening—always paying close attention to patient feedback and taking action to make meaningful improvements.

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys traveling and spending time with her children, husband, and dogs.  She also enjoys stories in all forms. Her favorites include listening to audiobooks, indulging in true crime podcasts and escaping on lake trips with her book club.
